I’m glad to see new plays being produced.

I got my notice from the Provincetown Public Library and saw that they’ve had someone organize a series of new plays on Sunday afternoons. This is nice to see because the big playhouses on the Cape seem bent on restaging the old war horses. This is because they can assure themselves of ticket sales.

Of course the war horses were once new plays too, and if no one had given them a chance where would we all be.

I hope to put on Checkmate in the winter after the demand for actors is over with the onset of fall. I’m champing at the bit to do it but will have to keep my jets cool until I get past the tourist surge.
