I’m in kind of a mess

I’ve been a little unfocused lately. That explains why I’m behind on my blogging. I have to figure out all over again what goes first. what do you focus on? The immediate or the important?

I had put my great American novel, X Marks the Spot, on the back burner. There is all this playwrighting activity which i love. Ken Burns’ documentary about Ernest Hemingway reignited the fire under my novel. I’m amazed at how he can build whole worlds out of tiny little worlds and short, simple sentences. Then there’s my book about the Curtis String Quartet waiting. After that there are a bunch of short stories I want to publish a Stories Mostly abut Dogs. Then there are poems I have scattered all over cloud. I’ll never finish anything the way things are going. I have to put things in order. There’s no rule of course that I have to finish everything, except I want to. I want Troubles in Henry’s Nose to be more widely seen. I want to get my novel done. I want the Curtis book done. I want the short stores, mostly about dogs, out there. So I have to have a management meeting with myself.

If you have a chance to see it in your area, check out the Hemingway documentary on PBS, entitled Hemingway.
