Examine your motivation in writing before starting to write. Do you want to get rich? Do you want to convince somebody of something? Do you want to popularize a cause?

Experienced writers should examine their motivations, too. Their motivations might have changed over the years.

I filmed and started promoting Troubles in Henry’s Nose because I want to provide a service to seniors. I know the play is good and resonates with seniors who see it. So there I am.

The best way to get rich as a writer is to not be a writer. Become famous or infamous for something else, then write.

I write because I can’t not write.
